In 2022, we made JFK Promenade permanent

JFK Promenade used to be a dangerous thoroughfare in the middle of Golden Gate Park. During the pandemic, the city opened it to people full time, and San Francisco residents discovered the joy of walking, biking, and rolling on this protected open space every day of the week.

In 2022, KidSafe SF led a campaign to make car-free JFK Promenade permanent, first at the board of supervisors, and then at the ballot. Prop J passed with 63% of the vote.
